Welcome to Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Lebanon, Virginia!

In our worship at Lebanon Presbyterian Church, we still proclaim the foundation of our faith that Christ died, Christ has risen and we await the return of Christ for those Believers. We unite to worship God and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with each other, as well as our community. We call on the Holy Spirit, as we support each other in prayer and spiritual growth. We worship, study, and fellowship with joy, forgiveness, and faithfulness as we seek to live out our love of God and our neighbor. Please come and join us!

What Grows In Your Ground of Being?

In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus tells of a farmer who sows seed indiscriminately. Some seed falls on the path with no soil, some on rocky ground with little soil, some on soil that contains thorns, and some on good soil. In the first case, the seed is taken away; in the second and third soils, the seed fails to produce a crop; but when it falls on good soil, it grows and yields thirty-, sixty-, or a hundred-fold.

Jesus later explains to his disciples that the seed represents the Gospel, the sower represents anyone who proclaims it, and the various soils represent people’s responses to it.

This parable calls us to be good soil, to hear, and then to respond. Luckily, one grain of sand never makes for good soil; we need a lot of dirt, all bound together. Together, we can bear fruit, nourishing one another and faithfully following God.

Join us on Sunday, August 25th, as Rev. Tim Bird leads our worship service with his message, “What Grows In Your Ground Of Being?” All are welcome here.
