Lebanon Presbyterian Church recently presented a $1,500 check to the Lebanon Community Food Pantry to support its work providing food and essential items to families throughout Russell County.
The donation was made possible by a grant from the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People, through its “People Investing in People” initiative, to Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
Dependable food assistance remains an important need across Russell County. Many households face poverty, unemployment, disability, rising food costs, and other financial pressures that can make it difficult to provide consistent, nutritious meals. While Russell County Public Schools provides free meals to students during the school day, children may still experience nutritional gaps in the evenings, on weekends, during school breaks, and in the summer months. Families may find themselves choosing between purchasing food and paying for housing,
The Lebanon Community Food Pantry helps meet these needs by providing groceries, hygiene products, and other essentials to food-insecure households throughout Russell County. The pantry is open on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and uses an assigned monthly schedule to help distribute available resources fairly.
Through this donation, Lebanon Presbyterian Church is pleased to support the pantry’s ongoing mission to serve local families in a welcoming environment where everyone is treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.
