Rites of Passage

Each academic rite of passage is both an ending and a beginning that marks a major milestone or change in a person’s life.
This past Sunday, August 3rd, we celebrated these new phases in the lives of our church family members with the graduations of Audrey Dillon, Robbie and Carrie Bundy, and Clint Wilson. We thanked God for their growth in knowledge and prayed for continued growth in both knowledge and faith as they continue their education and/or enter the workforce.
New beginnings were celebrated as Gavin Turner, Riley, and Colt Leonard began school for the first time. They may experience a mix of excitement and apprehension as they leave the familiarity of home and enter a new world of learning and social interaction.
For all those beginning school or college, we thank you, Lord, for the gift of the first day of school and all the days to come. May our children learn and grow, be curious and compassionate, and find peace in your promises and in their challenges. O God of new beginnings, help to always guide them along Your path. Amen.”
