How do you answer the question, “But who do you say that I am?” Matthew 16:15
Jesus wasn’t just asking His disciples long ago; He’s asking each of us today. It invites us to move past what others think, past tradition, and past hearsay, and instead look into our own hearts.
When Peter confessed, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” it was more than words — it was a declaration of trust and surrender. Each person must decide for themselves who Jesus is.
Peter’s response, confessing Him as the Messiah, becomes the foundation of the Church and reflects the central truth of Christianity.
This verse reminds us that faith isn’t inherited or secondhand; it’s a living, personal relationship with Jesus, built on the conviction of who He truly is to us.
