We have all heard the familiar saying, “It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.” Sometimes we even live by those words, making choices based on what we want in the moment and hoping forgiveness will come later. Is that really the way Jesus calls us to live?
Would He act first and seek forgiveness later, or would He turn to His Heavenly Father for wisdom and guidance?
God’s forgiveness is a beautiful gift, but it isn’t meant to be a free pass to knowingly make the wrong choices. Instead, His grace invites us to pause, pray, seek His direction, and consider how our actions affect others.
Scripture reminds us that God is merciful, gracious, slow to anger, and overflowing with love. He understands our weaknesses and temptations, and through Jesus, we can approach His throne of grace with confidence, seeking mercy, strength, and guidance in the decisions we face.
Maybe the better question isn’t, “Will God forgive me afterward?” but rather, “Am I inviting God into my decisions before I act?”
Join us this Sunday as Tracy McGlothlin leads our worship service at 11:00 am and explores how permission, forgiveness, grace, and personal responsibility come together in our daily walk with Christ.
